Jaime Marshall

Jaime Marshall is a London-based Bay Area (California) native who has been working in the publishing business for around twenty-five years on both sides of the Atlantic. After spending the early part of his career at W. W. Norton & Company (USA and UK), he settled in London and joined the academic and college publisher Palgrave Macmillan, where he rose through editorial and management ranks to become Publishing Director and later Managing Director in 2014. In 2016, subsequent to an announcement of a major joint venture that would imperil the prospects for the business, Jaime resigned to set up a publishing consultancy and the agency. (The publishing side of the former business was sold to Bloomsbury in 2021.)

As an editor in psychology and economics, Jaime commissioned and developed several international bestsellers and ground-breaking titles by experts of the highest international calibre, including Erik Angner, Jay Bhattacharya, Elaine Fox, Henry Gleitman, Bruce Hood and ‘the three Dans’, Schacter, Gilbert, and Wegner; David Perrett, and Mark P. Taylor. He has also worked with Joseph Stiglitz, and interviewed most living Nobel economists for a series of short films produced by Nature.

Reflecting his editorial commissioning background, Jaime takes an unusually proactive approach to steering the agency by subject matter and readership, often prompting new book ideas by initiating conversations with authors and experts in his wide and diverse network. However, he is always eager to hear from new authors who are looking for an active partner who can help ensure their writing reaches as broad an international audience as possible.
